TIPS

Tipping..Is it really necessary?!?! I mean..First of all..you're already paying MORE than the cost of the food to the restaurant. Should it not be the restaurants obligation to "take care" of their employees?! Why do we gotta do it. Even if you order Pizza for delivery, the Pizza place automatically takes a delivery charge from you.I s it really necessary!? I never understood it.

  1. I think you're kind of right. You could tip if you want, but it shouldn't be obligatory (You know what I mean).

  2. Ah, genuinely agreed with this post, I've been complaining about tips for years - always getting called tight-arsed because of it. There are so many people who work 10 - 20x harder than waiters and delivery people etc, yet it isn't social etiquette to tip.
    AND im following =] xD

  4. In England it's less of an obligation than in the US, people only tip if the service was particularly good or the food was better than usual, nice to learn about different cultures though.

  5. I think tipping is generally appropriate unless the server really messes up. I don't however see tipping 20% as a must. 15% will do. Interesting post. Following :)

  9. THE GENTLEMAN IS CORRECT, tipping isn't accepted in Europe but we're just so greedy here that we need more money

  11. In cases like waiters where they earn less than minimum wage without tips I understand it altough I still hate when waiters/waitresses expect a tip even if the service was bad.
