Tipping..Is it really necessary?!?! I mean..First of all..you're already paying MORE than the cost of the food to the restaurant. Should it not be the restaurants obligation to "take care" of their employees?! Why do we gotta do it. Even if you order Pizza for delivery, the Pizza place automatically takes a delivery charge from you.I s it really necessary!? I never understood it.
I think you're kind of right. You could tip if you want, but it shouldn't be obligatory (You know what I mean).
ReplyDeleteAh, genuinely agreed with this post, I've been complaining about tips for years - always getting called tight-arsed because of it. There are so many people who work 10 - 20x harder than waiters and delivery people etc, yet it isn't social etiquette to tip.
ReplyDeleteAND im following =] xD
I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteNice post ,following :)
In England it's less of an obligation than in the US, people only tip if the service was particularly good or the food was better than usual, nice to learn about different cultures though.
ReplyDeleteI think tipping is generally appropriate unless the server really messes up. I don't however see tipping 20% as a must. 15% will do. Interesting post. Following :)
ReplyDeleteI hate to tip -____-
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Keep up the good blogging it will eventually pay off!
ReplyDeleteI dislike tipping but I dislike the feeling I get from NOT tipping
ReplyDeletecatch-22
true...but i do think they make minimum wage, and when i used to work in a service oriented job for minimum wage, tips were the only thing that really made me happy hahaha
ReplyDeleteTHE GENTLEMAN IS CORRECT, tipping isn't accepted in Europe but we're just so greedy here that we need more money
ReplyDeleteoh my god.. about time someone feels the same way as me on this topic.. i never understood why people tip...
ReplyDeleteIn cases like waiters where they earn less than minimum wage without tips I understand it altough I still hate when waiters/waitresses expect a tip even if the service was bad.
